Run DMD – Relay Challenge – Hull Marathon 2017 @ City of Hull

Following the enjoyment and success of our 2016 Hull Marathon Relay the participants and others have expressed their desire to run in 2017.

The route has now been announced !

For those thinking of joining us in our Run DMD Relay Battle we are looking to confirm and register teams by the end of Feb. This should ensure that we get the space we need for our teams and also allow us all to plan for any training needed for the specific legs we will run.

the suggested route is still awaiting sign off from the authorities but any changes are likely to be minor and the distances / leg info below is a guide.

Leg 1 – KCOM to East Park – 6 Miles
Leg 2 – East Park to Pickering Park – 7 Miles
Leg 3 – Pickering Park – Humber Birdge Car Park – 8 Miles
Leg 4 – Humber Bridge Car Park – KCOM – 5 Miles

Our friends at Business 101 will be helping to get us some coloured Run DMD Shirts – Cheers Neil Borrill !




The idea is friendly competition across relay teams while raising awareness and support of Joy4Joel and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.


During 2016 our t-shirts (provided by Business 101) raised lots of awareness catching the eye of the Hull Daily Mail and many who supported the event on the streets. We would like all participants to wear one (the hat is optional!) and plan for a trophy to be awarded to the winning team.



My wonderful work colleagues provided me with much support on race day and the banter leading up to the day was fantastic. (Once they had worked out who was running the longer distances!)

Leg 1 – The Eastern Loop (9.8km) – Queens Gardens – East Park – Garden Village – Alfred Gleder St
Leg 2 – The Stadium Stage (11.8km) – Alfred Gelder St – KC Stadium – Boothferry Rd – Humber Bridge Toll
Leg 3 – The Lincolnshire Dash (12.2km) – Humber Bridge Toll – Barton – Hessle Square – Pickering Rd
Leg 4 – The Home Straight (8.4km) – Pickering Rd – Hessle Rd – Albert Dock – Marina – Queens Gardens
